Aquaventure World at Atlantis The Palm is one of the largest waterparks in the world, spread over 22 hectares in Dubai and themed throughout around the lost city of Atlantis. It is built for a full day rather than a couple of hours: rides for people who want to be frightened, shallow lagoons for people who are three years old, and long stretches of lawn and palm shade for everyone in between. The rides are grouped across three towers — Trident Tower, Poseidon's Tower and Neptune's Tower — and between them they hold record-breaking slides, wave pools and multi-person rafting rides. The signature drop is Leap of Faith, a near-vertical slide that fires you through a clear tube running straight through a shark-filled lagoon. Families with younger children have Splashers Lagoon and Splashers Cove, water playgrounds with shallow pools built at their scale. Beyond the slides, the Lost World Aquarium recreates the ruins of Atlantis underwater, with more than 65,000 marine animals — sharks, rays and reef fish — seen through immersive tunnels and interactive exhibits. Whether the aquarium is included depends on the ticket category you book. The rest of the park is landscaped with palms, tropical planting and lagoons, and guests get access to a private beach with white sand and views over the Arabian Gulf. Good to know: beachwear is required, so bring swimwear and a towel — swimwear is sold in the park and towels can be rented on site. You may bring up to 0.5 litres of water per person; outside food is not permitted, and there are cafes inside. Children under 1.2 m and under 3 years enter free, children aged 3 to 7 need a child ticket and 8 and above take an adult ticket; proof of age may be asked for at the entrance. Several slides require a minimum height of 1.2 m, and young children must wear armbands and swim diapers. The park is wheelchair accessible. Tickets cannot be cancelled or refunded.
